Terms & Conditions

1. Our current full day rate is £250, and half day rate of £150 for pre-booked work of a none complex nature.

Complex work, such as a consumer unit upgrade, or EV install is charged at a higher rate, which shall be discussed with the client prior to work commencing.

Callout fees are £60 which includes up to the first hour. If after the first hour, (which includes travel time to and from the property) the electrician does not have any additional time available to continue, the client must pay JGC Electrics the call-out fee at this point. Additional fault finding or remedial work will have to be booked in at a future date and a price quoted for additionally. Please note that the first hour includes the travel time to and from current location at time of call. At the end of the first hour, the client shall pay JGC Electrics for the electrical fault finding work undertaken so far, and any additional fee’s for additional time shall be added, and if undertaken should be charged extra. Any material supplied by JGC Electrical, shall be charged to the client. In the event that the electrical fault(s) have not been rectified during the first hour, the client will still pay for the travel time and duration that JGC Electrics have been in attendance at the property. Payment shall be made by the client whilst JGC Electrics is in attendance at the property for the time worked and cost of materials used, either via cash or debit/credit card payment. JGC Electrics does possess a ‘Sumup card reader machine’ to utilise debit/credit card payments. Client will be issued a mobile text receipt for any payments made. Each extra hour is charged at £45.

Additional works (that is, those not specifically noted in this quotation) will be subject to charges at our normal rate of £20 +VAT per 30 minute intervals. (Note, these rates are reviewed regularly and subject to change.)

2. All fittings remain the property of JGC Electrics* until full and final payment is received.

3. All fittings and components provided as white plastic conforming to the relevant British standards (unless otherwise stated).

4. Where making good is necessary, JGC Electrics* will make good to a bonding coat finish only. This will require a smooth coat once dry not undertaken by ourselves. Repainting walls and ceiling is not our responsibility.

5. JGC Electrics* will provide materials and labour unless otherwise stated.

6. JGC Electrics* will have access to the property on the days agreed. The job duration quoted assumes vacant access and the absence of delays or disruptions by other trades. Any delays due to disruption or impeded access may result in additional charges.

7. JGC Electrics* will not be responsible for waste removal.

8. Occupants will need to ensure that the floor spaces of all rooms are clear. Any delays due to unclear spaces will result in additional charges.

9. Certificates, where required, will be forwarded on receipt of full payment.

GUARANTEE for JGC Electrics* guarantees all work for a period of 12 months from completion, provided that the work is not altered or interfered with in any way (including third party repairs). Materials and components are subject to manufacturer’s warranty. All installation work is covered by the NICEIC 6 year insurance-backed Warranty Scheme.

PAYMENT for JGC Electrics.* Upon Satisfactory Completion of the work, the balance of the monies owed will become DUE IMMEDIATELY. Larger projects may require interim payments, and this will be agreed in advance. JGC Electrics* accepts most of payment of BACS balance transfer or cash. All materials including fittings, cables and other components remain the property of JGC Electrics until full and final payment is made.
